What is Sadhana (suh·daa·nuh) you ask? The Sanskrit word for daily spiritual practice is called sadhana. The regular application of techniques like asana, pranayama, meditation, and chanting are all part of the sadhana, which is a disciplined relinquishing of the ego. Any activity that is undertaken mindfully, obediently, and with the goal of spiritual development can be categorized as sadhana, but it must be carried out independently and for the benefit of the individual. A ritual link with the universal spirit can be made through sadhana. It enjoins the practitioner, also referred to as the sadhaka, to exercise self-discipline in order to conquer the ego and keep the link with omnipotent oneness.
